Devereux Creek Road Mackay

Mackay Council asked contractor, Adon Dinsmore of Downer EDI to investigate damage to Devereux Creek Road Mackay.

Pavement Samples were taken and geotec results were obtained by Bowler Geotechnical. These are presented with capillary rise observations
and photos, showing progressive results of

a. Natural sample
b. PR21L stabilised sample
c. PR11L stabilised sample

In all cases, (10 in number) the ‘natural’ samples eroded, swelled, water rose to the top of the sample, softened and some fully collapsed.

The PR21L stabilised samples (additive 1.5% by weight)resisted ingress, did not erode or swell, and remained dry and solid.

The PR11L stabilised samples (additive 2% by weight) resisted water ingress, negligible erosion, no swelling, marginally higher exterior capillary
rise than the PR21L and remained firm and dry.

Overall, excellent results were made with a 1.5% addition of PR21L.
