Polyroad Recommended Laboratory Testing

  1. Capillary Rise & Swell Test AS 1145.53 - Click to enlarge (36KB)Plasticity Index - may need to pre-treat material if P.I. is consistently and well above 20.
  2. Grading - % fines passing 2.36mm to be at least equal to DGB20/FCR specifications i.e. 35 to 55% passing.
  3. Capillary Rise and Swell - best if compared against parent material, and parent material with lime.
  4. CBE - best if compared against parent material, and parent material with lime (soaked and unsoaked).

Polyroad DPP is not suitable where:

  1. The pavement material is a sized graded macadam style pavement, i.e. lack of fines resulting in voids within the granular matrix.
  2. Single sized coarse sands.
